FAQ: Tutoring Questions and Answers
Note that IBEW (International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers) and NECA (National Electrical Contractors Association) formed a joint training program called the Electrical Training Alliance (previously called NJATC).
The NJATC (National Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee) is now called the Electrical Training Alliance.
The IBEW Aptitude Test is often referred to as the JATC Aptitude Test, the NJATC Aptitude Test, or just the Electrician Aptitude Test. You need to pass the Aptitude Test before you get into the IBEW Apprentice Program.
How many tutoring sessions are needed to pass the electrical aptitude test?
I work with many people with varying math skill levels. After our first tutoring session, I will have a better understanding of your math skills and how long it will take you to get ready to pass the test.
How often do we meet?
If your test is a few months away, we can meet once a week to begin. As the test date gets closer, we can switch to twice a week. If you need more, we can meet as often as needed.
How do we Meet?
We will meet online using Google Meet. It's like Zoom but easier. There is nothing to download. Use your laptop, desktop computer, or tablet.
Once we set a date and time, you will receive an email with a link that says to Join with Google Meet.
